Milton Keynes Ladies' Charity Table Tennis Tournament Raises £650 and Collects More Than 100 Bras for Recycling

The second annual ladies' charity table tennis tournament at Milton Keynes Table Tennis Centre has ended with a meaningful result: £650 raised for Breast Cancer Now and more than 100 used bras collected for recycling. The event took place on September 6, organised by Julie Snowdon, a Table Tennis England staff member and secretary of the centre. Fourteen women entered the tournament, mostly from the centre's monthly ladies-only sessions. The event was designed to be fun and fair, with two group rounds leading to a main final and a consolation final. This format gave every participant plenty of action and reduced the pressure often felt by recreational players. The tournament also supported breast cancer awareness. Alongside the £650 donation, over 100 bras were collected for the Against Breast Cancer recycling scheme. The combination of grassroots table tennis and charity has turned a small local competition into a meaningful community gathering. Julie Snowdon's role was vital in connecting Table Tennis England with the local centre. Her dedication helped build a welcoming environment for women, and the event promoted future ladies-only sessions scheduled for November 1, from 10am to 12pm.
